cantuWANTED BY DOC IN YAKIMA COUNTY –
His street name,  is ‘Loco’ –  perfect for missing high-violent offender, Levi Cantu.

He’s wanted by Grandview police for drugs and guns, and by the Department of Corrections for Escape in Yakima County — but officers think he could be hiding in the Seattle area now.

Cops say ‘Loco’s’ deep into meth, gangs, and violence — like the brutal brass-knuckled beating he gave a store clerk — over beer. “Levi and his friend stole beer from a convenience store,” says DOC Ofc. Christina Lacy. “When the clerk tried to stop them, they hit him in the head with fists, brass knuckles, and a 4″ pipe. The clerk suffered major bruising, and cuts to his head and his face.”

Cantu’s huge rap sheet includes convictions for assault, burglary, robbery, and a ton of domestic violence crimes.

Officers say his mixture of drugs, gangs, and guns makes Cantu a ‘high safety risk’ to anyone trying to come after him.

Here are the details on LEVI CANTU:

  • Street Name: ‘Loco’
  • Age: 39
  • Ht: 5’11”
  • Wt: 205 lbs

Officers say he hangs out in the Sunnyside/Grandview areas of Yakima County – but again — could be hiding around the Seattle area now.

‘Davis Edwards’: Fake-name fraud fugitive on run — while loved ones think he’s dying

$

davis MOST RECENTWANTED BY SOCIAL SECURITY ADMINISTRATION –
Federal agents say friends know him as ‘Davis Edwards’.

He was born Teddy Lithgoe.

At work, he went by ‘Charles Simmons’.

Now, he’s a fugitive wanted on five federal felonies:

  • Aggravated ID theft
  • Social Security fraud
  • Passport fraud
  • Wire fraud
  • Theft of government funds

This is a man agents say is on the run, while the people who care about him — think he’s dying of cancer.

According to Special Agent in Charge Joseph Velling, “Agents from the Social Security Administration Office of the Inspector General, along with special agents from Diplomatic Security, and Health and Human Services, have spent the last 8 months investigating Davis Edwards.”

Be sure to checkout all the photos of him below.

Edwards was born under his real name in Walla Walla, in the 1950′s.

Social Security Administration Special Agent Todd Salter says his uncle, Charles Simmons, was born in the ’40′s — also in that area. In ‘66, Charles Simmons died in a boating accident. In the early ‘90′s, Teddy Lithgoe went into a Social Security office in San Diego, and applied for a card under his uncle’s name, birthdate and Social Security number. He then used that card to basically change his identity and start to use multiple identities.” Salter says Lithgoe eventually settled on the name ‘Davis Adder Edward’ — but went to work using his uncle’s name — then went on disability with the Social Security Administration. “At the time that we got this case, he’d stolen approximately $120,000 from the government while doing this.”

All the while, Agent Salter says his loved one’s thought he was dead. “It appears that everything Mr. Edwards tells his friends and family is a lie.”

In November of 1993, he sent a letter to them saying he was in Australia — had cancer — and wouldn’t be seeing them again, writing,  “I have bad news, and by the time you receive this letter I will have died.”

Agents say the truth is, he was likely living in Washington or Oregon — not on his death bed — and not happy when Special Agent Salter found him in Portland last April. “I showed him these two driver’s licenses. They’re both the same person pictured in them with different dates of birth, and when I showed them to him and looked at them pretty closely and he said, ‘it looks a lot like me doesn’t it’, and then he slammed the door in our face.” Salter says Edwards quickly cleaned out his bank account and took off — but not before posting a virtual memorial online — telling his friends his cancer was back and was taking one final road trip. He writes, “I have had a really good life. I will say the last 21 years were the best, because of all of you.” His friends quickly responded, one saying, “Devastated to hear the news of your prognosis.” Agents have found no evidence Edwards is dying, and say he’s alive and well. “We do know that he came to Seattle. We know that he’s bought several things in the Seattle area to include a backpack, sleeping bag, pillow and several throw-away phones.”

He could still be going by the name ‘Davis Edwards’, or ‘Edward Charles Davis’ — another one of his fake identities.

Special Agent Salter says cases like this are important because those are your retirement funds. “They’re stealing the money that all of us have paid into for years and when we get to that stage in our lives, we want to know that that money is there so by holding these people accountable and catching them it helps to preserve those funds and know that they’re there when we need them.”

Agent Salter says Edwards works in construction management, and could be in Seattle, Portland or San Francisco — where he’s been spotted.

If you know where Federal agents can find this accused identity thief, call an anonymous tip into:

bradfordWANTED IN KING COUNTY –
Deadly repeat drunk driver, Bradford Burchard, turned a woman’s Renton home into a horror scene in 2006 – rushing outside after he crashed into her front yard.

She found a baby lying beneath the shrubs — killed in the crash. “That was a nightmare,” she said. “Something I hope I never see again. You don’t want a baby to die by themselves, so you stay there and talk to them anyway, so they’re not alone. I hope she knew.

bradford court

Burchard blew over twice the legal limit. He plead guilty and did 5 years in prison. He got out, but recently — got another DUI. A judge gave him work release — but Burchard escaped last month — and hasn’t been seen since, making him a wanted fugitive in King County.

“Burchard is somebody we consider very dangerous,” says King County Sgt. Cindi West. “He may not commit his crimes with a gun or a knife, but we consider him as equally dangerous. In 2006, after drinking and driving, he ran a stop sign, hit a vehicle, killed a baby girl that was in the vehicle. Injured the baby’s mother and another sibling that was in the vehicle. He spent 5 years in prison for that. Most recently, he was convicted of another DUI where he was driving down the road, rolled his vehicle. There was a witness to it, and he was eventually convicted of that. He is now on the lam. He’s not in custody. We really want to get him off the streets. We believe if he gets behind the wheel, he may injure or kill somebody else.”

Here are the details on BRADFORD BURCHARD:

  • Age: 36
  • Ht: 6’0”
  • Wt: 167 lbs
  • Could be living as homeless in Portland, Oregon area
  • Has ties to Arkansas

Roger Elson: WMW’s tallest fugitive ever — accused of making meth and building bombs

$

elsonWANTED IN PIERCE COUNTY –
Wanted felon, Roger Elson, is an accused meth-maker and bomb-builder — and the tallest fugitive we’ve featured – nearly seven feet tall.

Pierce County deputies searched his property in Puyallup last December, and say they found a meth lab. Federal agents also found the ingredients to make explosives. Elson told them he uses them to make illegal fireworks.

His wife was arrested earlier this week — now Elson has a warrant for his arrest.

“This is a subject who`s been making meth a long time,” says Pierce County Det. Ed Troyer. “He`s good at it, but he uses the `old-school` method, which is very dangerous, a lot of chemicals involved, which can contaminate animals, make kids sick, and actually blow up and cause explosions. On top of that, he’s got other ingredients that are specifically made for bomb-making. What he’s doing with those materials? He could be setting `booby traps` on his meth labs, or he could be using them in a more sinister way. Either way, both those reasons, we need to get him picked up and taken off the streets.”

Elson’s already served time in federal prison for firearms possession.

Here are the details on ROGER ELSON:

  • Age: 54
  • Ht: 6’11”
  • Wt: 210 lbs
  • Hair: Graying/light brown

‘Pigeon-Toed Perp’: Armed robber with unique walk ambushes woman at mall

northgateWANTED IN SEATTLE –
A ‘pigeon-toed’ armed robber was caught on camera staking-out his victim at Northgate Mall in Seattle last Sunday.

Watch the video: He waited for her patiently in the hallway, before ambushing her with a switchblade and robbing her.

She fought back and got cut, and now Seattle police need your help identifying this ‘armed and dangerous’ suspect.

Retired Det. Myrle Carner with Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound takes us through the video. “You’re going to see the victim and the suspect disappear out of sight, but just before that happens, he produces a knife in his left hand which may indicate he’s left handed. During the struggle he actually stabs the victim. The fight continues out into the hallway. There, you’ll see where the victim’s friend, who’s a witness in this case, is on the phone calling 911.”

You see a mall security officer start running towards the sounds of the robbery, chasing the suspect out the doors.

Detectives say the thief took off in a black 4-door sedan with stolen license plates.

Before the hit, he leaned against the wall while waiting to strike. But, when the two women came towards him, he started walking – this is what we really want you to focus on – as he comes toward the camera talking on his phone, notice how he walks — he’s ‘pigeon-toed’ — that’s really distinctive.

Here’s a description of the suspect:

  • Wearing Seahawks jersey – #37, Shaun Alexander
  • Ht: about 5’10”
  • Goatee
  • Walks ‘pigeon-toed’

Ret. Det. Carner says this case is a good safety alert. “If you’re a business owner and you’re going to make a bank deposit in a drop like that, and you see someone loitering in an area like that, turn around and go away until the individual leaves, or until you can call security and they can come up and join you for that actual deposit.”

LEMMplaid3

FUGITIVE CAPTURED July 4th, 2013 –
Accused armed robber Andrew Lemm spent his holiday in jail after surrendering on the 4th.

Numerous viewers called Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound to identify him after WMW aired surveillance video on June 9th of him using a handgun to rob a Plaid Pantry store in Seattle.

Five days after the video was broadcast, King County detectives say Lemm used a hatchet to hold up a 7-Eleven store in Shoreline.  The clerk and a customer ran from the store as detectives say Lemm — whose head was covered with a shirt or other clothing — brandished the weapon. He allegedly stole lottery tickets, cigarettes and milk among other items.  Investigators say he cashed in the lottery tickets at another store and was identified from surveillance video.

Surveillance photos from the 7-Eleven robbery aired on Q13 FOX News at 9 and 10 last Wednesday night along with Lemm’s picture.

He is also suspected in a home burglary and vehicle theft in King County. The stolen vehicle was recovered in Oregon when Lemm was arrested.  Authorities there released him from jail last week because they weren’t aware he was wanted in Washington state.

Detectives say his mother drove to Oregon to pick him up and bring him back to Seattle where he surrendered on Independence Day.

When questioned, he invoked his right to remain silent.

Lemm is the 431st fugitive brought to justice after being featured on Washington’s Most Wanted.

FUGITIVE WANTED IN SEATTLE June 28, 2013 –
Thanks to you, we’re one step closer to snagging an accused armed robber who hit a Plaid Pantry convenience store in Seattle, just after midnight a few weekends ago.

Seattle police say Andrew Lemm is ‘armed and dangerous’ — and on the run. “There’s absolutely no question this guy knows he’s wanted,” says Ret. Det. Myrle Carner with Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound. “First of all, he saw himself on Washington’s Most Wanted. I’m sure everyone in the world told him, ‘hey, they’re looking for you.’ The thing that bothers us is he’s got a gun. He’s on the street. He may do something stupid.”

Watch the video — as the armed robber detectives say is Lemm — barges in, pushes a customer to the side and points a gun right at the clerk and demands the cash. The store employee stays calm and gives him the drawer. The thief starts grabbing the money by the fistfuls, getting all the bills and then and jamming them in the front pocket of his jeans. The clerk even politely offers to help him, giving him a bag so he take all the coins.

Detectives say that wasn’t the only time Lemm came into the store. He and a buddy showed up earlier that night as well — notice he’s wearing the same hat and sweatshirt. His buddy in the black and purple hat tries to buy a beer with a scratch off ticket, but when he turns out to be a loser, he pays cash for the brewski.

Here are the details on ANDREW LEMM:

  • Age: 24
  • Ht: 6’2″

puetzWANTED IN SEATTLE –
Golfers, take a good look at who’s teeing-off around you — it could be this accused golf club crook.

Seattle police say he walked into the Puetz Golf Superstore on Aurora Ave. late last month, asking about some wedges. A worker brought him over to them. He grabbed a couple, acted like he was heading to the register to pay – but instead – bolted out the front door and took off on a bicycle.

“Well, for all the golfers viewing this, they’re probably saying, ‘Maybe he needs to improve his golf game.’ I’d like to improve his life by putting him in jail, because this guy is stealing pricey stuff, and the bottom line — you and I end up paying for it, because they bump the prices all the time. jonesWANTED IN BURLINGTON — He likes to use the alias “Nile Jones,” but detectives are trying to determine the real name of a man responsible for thousands of dollars in thefts.

He’s been caught on surveillance video inside the Mukilteo T-Mobile store, wearing some distinctive light blue tennis shoes. The video shows him putting a bag down next to the register and then waving his hands around and doing a little dance like he doesn’t have a care in the world.

That’s when detectives say he used cloned credit cards to buy several thousand dollars worth of cell phones.

In Burlington, it appears he used cloned cards again and a fake Arizona driver’s license to buy more than $10,000 of iPhone 5s.

The man is also wanted for similar thefts in Marysville and Everett.

Police said this guy gets around — investigators said in May 2012, he tried to buy a $7,000 ring at a Fred Meyer store using a cloned credit card and a fake Texas driver’s license. He has also hit Costco stores in Tumwater and Puyallup, getting away with expensive electronics.

He has victims spread out from Seattle to Texas, but detectives think he is from Pierce or King County — they just need to know what his real name is.

If you can tell police who he is, Crime Stoppers will pay a cash reward for information leading to his arrest. You can call the hotline at 800-222-TIPS.

Serial Number Science: WSP says bad guys who file them off – are just wasting their time

SEATTLE — Forensic scientist Kathy Geil has a passion for serial number restoration.

“What I’m going to do is add a little water to the surface,” she said.

Geil, who works at the Washington State Patrol Crime Lab, has already restored more than 400 numbers — half of which have been on firearms.

“What I’m trying to do is create a nice, smooth surface in which to see the numbers. So we try to create a mirror like finish. It seems counterintuitive, but I’m actually removing more medal so that I can visualize the numbers,” she said.

It’s a highly specialized skill that isn’t as easy as it looks.

“It’s very techy — you have to really practice and play with it and learn how to do it because the combinations of chemicals in your lab might be different in another lab, because your surface is changing. In a 110 degree weather, this is going to react differently than in Seattle,” Geil said.

Because of the science behind it, Geil said it’s rare that a serial number can’t be restored.

“The science of it is, as you’re stamping a number into the material, you’re changing that material to hold that number. Below that, you’re actually affecting the material. So, in medals you’re crushing the crystalline structure and that’s what we’re restoring,” she said.

The technique can be applied to everything from metal to plastic, so the Crime Lab is able to restore numbers on other items as well.

“It’s not unique to serial numbers on firearms. Part numbers, proof marks, other markings on material can be restored.”

It’s just one more way the bad guys can’t win. Not only are there stiffer penalties for those caught messing with a serial number, but in the hands of science, the numbers come right back — and that makes this forensic scientist very happy.

“It’s pretty fun to have it reveal itself and then know that you’re helping close a loop in a case. It’s kind of cool.”
